My dear Biff, there are no words to express my deep appreciation for all the info you have found for me! This is wonderful.
I did write to Trentinara, still waiting for them to respond. Now need to get all my ducks in a row and obtain copies of the documents. My family tree has grown to over 850 persons and you have just verified the facts needed on the older members. Thank you so very much, Carol

Carol,
Glad to have helped. Should I locate any other information, I'll post it on the appropriate thread.
Best,
Biff

Wow, Wow, Wow, LOL, I am speachless! No one in my line of the family has a picture of Biagio Accarino! These docs are wonderful additions. I have been referring to him as "Don Accarino" because everyone in Jersey City seems to be connected or related to him in some way! even my mother's family. Friday I had ordered the marriage cert for Biagio and Elvira Ciucci from NY Archives, Elvira is my grandmother Stephanina's sister. The manifest for the California is needed, do not have a copy. I was aware of this info however, as another distant counsin (I have a plethora of cousins!) has completed the Ciucci/Ciuccio/Vernaglia/ family tree back to the 1750's. The Gedcom was posted on Ancestry but pulled off since it contained personal info on living persons. Hope she put it back online. Once again Biff, you have astounded me.

Ok, Biff and Carol, I'm following your thread with amazement and hope that somehow, someway your leads can help me find something to grasp at with Angelo Ruotolo/Rotolo side. I, too, have a connection to Biaggio Accarino if only the fact that he owns the grave my great grandfather is in in Jersey City...but I yearn to know if there was a family connection at all.
Biff, a question on your translations in the Trentinara Status Animarum: on my Rotolo listing (family 162) one of the notes indicates "maritata Marino" what does that mean, exactly?
Thanks!
Barbara

Hi Barbara,
I haven't forgot about your family, just haven't located anthing more yet. I was hoping that I'd find something while checking on Carol's family.
I believe "maritata Marino" means married to (surname) Marino.
Biff

Oh Biff, no worries at all! Just what you've aleady sent has inspired me.
I'm so happy for Carol (we both live here in NJ and talk frequently)!
I was just trying to piece together a thought I had, since I know Angelo came to the US on 3 Nov. 1905 on the Lombardia and the manifest shows him travelling with a Pasquale Marino. If my hunch is right, then I have a Marino and Rotolo(Ruotolo) connection - or at least the start of one.
Thanks again for your help.
Barbara

Well, it is now over 3 months since I wrote to the L'Ufficiale di Anagrafe in Sant' Arsenio and Trentinara. No response. Beginning to wonder if my friend Luigi's translation into Italy was accurate. What do you all think? should I write again?

Hi everyone, need your guidance again. I have not found the 1910 census for Guiseppe Terranova nor the 1920 census for both Guiseppe and his brother Antonio Terranova. Both were living on Sip Avenue in Jersey City, NJ during these years, I have docs to verify this. Any suggestions? Also cannot find Antonio on the 1930 census. Thanks Carol
