The archive records are full of errors. We noticed this within the first few hours of the site being launched. It is still a great resource -however all information found needs to be checked against the original records.

I have found errors in the original documents too. Many surnames were spelled wrong back in the day creating new surnames. One of my local names always confused me because I saw 2 spellings for the same family. Rather recently the mystery was solved my my recently found cousin in Argentina who told me her father's name was spelled one way and his brother's name spelled the other way (Lanfre vs. Lambre). It is not all the archives fault...some of the mis-spellings were done 100 years ago.
Having said that I have to say I do not understand how they could have transcribed mother's names as Giuseppe and Francesco! Lots of errors! Check many spellings of surnames while looking on the archive. I found my own surname spelled 3 ways. (I KNOW it was my family)

Cathy, my grandfather's brothers all spell their surname differently! We are the only ones who kept it true to form.

Michelle, The Archive has not put much up past 1880 and even 1880 is spotty at best and mostly male. Can you order a microfilm? She was from Marano Marchesato, wasn't she?

I have some more information on her, but there are a few things that remain a mystery, and yes, I do want to get the microfilms. I just started a new job, so things are a little crazy. When they settle down, I am DEFINITELY going to make time so I can change the question marks on her branch of the tree to periods!

I have searched these archives for D'Angelo, Cervino and D'Andrea all from Civita. I have found some good results but I don know how to get the documents. Can someone advise how I can get copies of these documents?

When you click on the name of the person who you are interested in there will be two buttons at the bottom - one says add bookmark and the other says order copy. Clcik on the order copy button and complete the form. Hit send and you will/should get a response in a month or so. Keep in mind there is a small charge for these documents - you may receive a few with a letter written in Italian outlining the charges and how to mail payment (cash only placed in a sheet of paper). Some documents with PRE in front of the number may not be available. Let me know if this helps at all.
