I am new to the site and see there is alot of valuable information here. I'm in the process of sending a letter to the Parish church in San Bartolomeo Val Cavargna (Como) searching to see if there is a baptismal document on my grand father. I will also send a small donation, can anyone tell me if Italy accepts International Money Orders? I'm thinking I can obtain one through my local post office. Since International Reply coupons are rather scarce here in the US, I see that Carole provides a wonderful service where I can obtain stamps.

Buy Euro and send cash inside a small envelope. Cashing anything here costs money.

Ann's right. I have heard this said several times as well. Just make sure you hide it well enough so your letter doesn't look too attractive to anyone who isn't meant to see it.
