Romano Napolitano
Letterato, storico, poeta. Nato a Montalto il 3 dicembre 1933, figlio terzogenito di Isabella Scorza e di Enrico. Attualmente vive e lavora a Paola. Socio dell’Accademia Cosentina, dell’Accademia Sybaris-Magna Grecia, di lettere, scienza ed arte; nonché della Società Napoletana (Maschio Angioino-Napoli). Appassionato di studi storici, ha dedicato tutta la sua vita alla storiografia calabrese. E’ autore di poesie e pregevoli monografie storiche di alto e riconosciuto valore critico e scientifico come Un mistero affascinante - L’ubicazione di Pandosia in val di Crati (Napoli, 1975); 5. Giovanni in Fiore monastica e civica (Napoli, 1978-8 1); Il viaggio politico di papa Callisto Il in Calabria 112 1-22 (Reggio Calabria, 1985); Montalto Uffugo nella tradizione e nella storia (Napoli, 1922); Poesie Giovanili; Storie delle origini di Paola e di Fuscaldo (Napoli, 1994).
Intellettuale puro e di ispirazione aristocratica, possiede una personalità austera e una visione della vita che si evidenziano nel rigore critico e nello straordinario acume, come nell’amore per tutto ciò che è bello, nobile e degno.
Per questa sua intensa attività culturale Romano Napolitano, storico regionale ormai noto e affermato, è stato insignito di ben otto riconoscimenti tra i quali:
due Premi "Sybaris-Magna Grecia" (1976-78); un Premio della cultura della Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri (Roma 1978); un Premio Internazionale "Calabria

For his deep cultural activity, Romano Napolitato - known by time, has been decorated by 8 recognitions: 2 awards "Sybaris-Magna Grecia" (1976-78); 1 award della cultura della Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri (Roma 1978); 1 award Internazionale "Calabria".
