Help in looking for my grandfather birth records name Angelo Antonio Fascione-Facione born 1870 Cervaro Cassino Italy
Can any body help me i have wrote a letter to Italy but no joy also i ordered a film from my Family Search Center and they was no record but found is sister born 1865 Maria Grazia Facione in Cervaro father name Michele
Facione born 1832
His there any where else i could find his birth records any help would be most greatful

If you can provide us with as much information as possible that would be great. Do you know if 1870 is the correct year or is it an assumption? Angelo Antonio's father was Michele (b. 1832) do you know his mothers full name (maiden)? Did you make a scan of Maria Grazia's birth record? If you did can you post it please so we can take a look? Did Angelo have any other siblings.....if so can you post their names and years of birth? The more information we have the easier it will be for us to help out.

Also Michele father is called Fortunatus Facione hope this is some help

A couple of questions. Your first post you have Cervaro and Cassino listed are you unsure of the town or have you found family in both towns? Do you remember which film you found Maria Grazia's birth record on and did you make a scan of it that you can upload to the forum?

CERVARO and it said Maria born Terra di Lavono

Hi Pauline. Do you know what your grandmothers name was (first name and maiden name) and do you happen to know what year your grandfather came to the USA?

If your Grandfather left Cervaro before WW2 it is unlikely you will find a birth record or even a reconstructed one. Cervaro records were destroyed during the bombing of Montecassino in WW2. The people in the town reconstructed their records from memory or documents after the war. If your Grandfather wasn't there he wouldn't have done this. Records before 1865 are on microfilm and since you know his parents names you can continue your search in the microfilms. Parish records did survive but are in desperate condition and the priest will not allow searches.
