Carol,

The film numbers are located to the right of the description. You need to set up an account on Family Search and know which Family History Center you want the microfilm reel(s) sent to.

When you click on the reel icon on the microfilm(s) you want to order, it will open an order page and prompt you to sign in if you aren't currently signed in. Once you do that, you can set up an account for ordering using a credit card.

You don't need to be able to read and write Italian to extract records but you do need to have some knowledge of the language to locate and extract information from Italian records. The sites at the end of this post should help you. You might want to print out the Italian Genealogical Word List paying close attention to the numbers, months, and days listing.

Since you know Antonio's birthdate and those records are online at the local Family History Center, I'd do as Paolo suggested. Locate that record and save it to a flash drive or print a copy which you can scan. Then post the image on this thread and we'll show you how to extract the details. His birth record will include other important information about his parents, Francesco and Gaetana. Since Francesco and Gaetana's marriage act is not online, you could also order this microfilm--Publication and Marriage records from 1866 to 1900.Pubblicazioni 1866-1900 Matrimoni 1866-1900 Morti 1866-1900 1640739 Items 2-4.

I believe the correct surnames are Filice not Felice and Canonico not Canonica based on the following information from the Cosenza archives.

Ufficio Leva della Provincia di Cosenza, Enlistment year 1874.Volume number 122,
document number 174 page 163 section c
Antonio Filice, contadino enlisted on --/--/----
born on 29/04/1874 to CAROLEI
son/daughter of Francesco Filice and of Gaetana Canonico

Very interesting Biff on the spelling of these names........the above were sent to me by Ancestry, with Canonico being born in Carlow. Ireland. Also find that very interesting! Have checked records there, can't find a thing, in fact never ran across an Italian name.
How she ended up in Carolei, Calabria, Italy where she was to have also died, is a real mystery to me as well.

Ah, research is so fun
Thanks
Carol
