Giuseppa LaBarbera D'Amato missing in the USA

My great Aunt Giuseppa LaBarbera married Giuseppe D'Amato and I believe they came to the USA but I have no records of this. I was told by family members that there was a nephew to my great grandfather Gaetano named Joe Amato (maybe they dropped the D'?) or maybe I wrote it down wrong. When Gaetano died the obituary requested that the Chicago, and Springfield IL papers be copied but ALSO the Kalamzoo, MI paper. Since I was told John and Anthony lived in Chicago and Springfield, maybe Giuseppa/Josephine lived in Kalamzoo???

Giuseppa's birth record was found yesterday, it says...

In the date of February 21, 1878 in Bagheria Agnese ....? (probaly the midwife) age 58, housewife living in Bagheria declaring that on February 17, 1878 at 12 p.m. in the house in 48 Lercara street, was born a baby girl named Giuseppa (La Barbera) by Sebastiana Gargano age 27 wife of Giovanni La Barbera age 33, farmer, living both in Bagheria.

Annotation:

Giuseppa La Barbera married Giuseppe D'Amato son of Francesco in the Civil Office of bagheria on September, 27, 1903, number 117
Palermo, August 13, 1904

I found a 1910 census for Joseph Amato........in Michigan........residing with his brother, sister-in-law and kids. Let me know if this look right

By the way, I spoke to the wife of a Giuseppe D'Amato- she told me that Giuseppa La Barbera and Giuseppe D'Amato were her husband's grandparents- he was not in when I called- she seemed a little suspicious about my call- perhaps you can write to them (in Italian- which I can help you with) before your trip and explain your family history so as to make them feel at ease and hopefully agree to meet with you.

Ok so I mailed off the letter, thanks Livo for your help!!! I included a simply digram of how I was related and also included a color photo copy of the Gaetano/Giuseppa wedding photo that Liz restored!
