Be safe sweetheart.
I'm sure we're all saying a prayer for you and yours - and of course everyone else out there in the path of that devastation!

She may be without power for quite some time - millions are without power in Houston. If you need a place to stay Gina - come to Chicago - you can help me move! lol
Seriously Gina - you are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope all is well with you. kiss

Simy and I have also been quite worried. My brother in law is suppose to fly out to Houston tomorrow and until now, he has been told by his company he still has to go, even though the executives over there have been evacuated. I told him hes not going anywhere in this weather.

Gina, keep us posted!

She probably doesnt have power. I dont think they got all of that flooding there, they got the bad 100 mph wind.

I also heard from Gina. Thank God she and her family are okay.

I'm wondering how John LaBarbara fared. I believe he lives in Katy Texas about 20 miles or so west of downtown Houston.

My son and family who live in the NW section of Houston are all okay. His house suffered no structural damage and they never lost power. However, they're without water since the pine tree in their front yard fell into the street and busted the water feed pipe to his place. They're using water from their above ground pool to flush toilets and neighbors are letting them take showers at their homes. They've got plenty of bottled water and food, and their local gas station, food market, and pharmacy are all open with power although there are lines at all locations. Most of the damage in his section came from unshuttered windows or trees falling onto homes. Estimated sustained winds at about 85 miles per hour with gusts up to 105 during the height of the storm.

The Port of Houston is still without power and closed although it didn't suffer any significant damage. Barbours Cut Container Terminal at the port where my son works suffered the most damage--empty and full containers were rearranged a bit in the high winds, and there was some damage to the office facilities. If the container terminal stays closed for an extended period of time, the shelves of non food items at WalMarts and other stores in the Southcentral and Southeast US will be getting a little sparse. Houston is the country's second largest container terminal and is critical not only for the shipment of gasoline from the refineries but also for the receipt and transshipment of containers of various commodities.

Best,
Biff

I'm also glad your son and his family are ok. What a nightmare. Gina said they spent five hours holding a door closed. Can you imagine?

Well, lets hope it only gets better from here.

We read your report, and yes, God was always with you.
You lived a nightmare.
