2 youtubes show on the bottom. They both work. Did you make those vids? What did you use to make them? muvee? I like the transitions of the second one.

I just scanned all of my kids baby photos and made a dvd with windows movie maker, using most of them. I have muvee, too, but I liked the transitions and effects in windows movie maker, better.

I have the same problem with the FHL. Its a half hour away and I no longer drive..but, I never drove there anyway, I went with my husband. I went for two years, once or twice a week. They were opened maybe 2-2 1/2 hours. By the time you got your film loaded and situated..it was like being there for 5 minutes. They used to have sunday hours..that were just about that long. It was directly after their sunday services. The second year, they asked all non church members not to go on a sunday..they wanted that day for their own people..so again..you were limited even more. This is why it means so much to me to see some of this stuff getting online. I also discovered, the two times I subscribed to ancestry for census records, how much easier it is..and how much more you could find, when you can do it at your leisure for as long as you want. I found things I would never have found, otherwise.

Lori, if anyone ever decides to scan paduli, I would be happy to help with indexing. Just let me know.

Lori, the videos are still there. You're right. They probably blocked the videos from work.

I know how you feel about group projects. When I started the extractions on the Calabria Exchage I thought I got in over my head. I wished I had someone to help me. Then I realized I would probably just end up doing most of the work on my own anyway and between the forum, Surname Datebase, my one name site Angilletta.info and the Gente website, I never have time for much.

Along the way though I managed to pick up a few "shortcuts" and I only go tot he FHC once a week now. I spend only one day updating the surname database (usually first thing on Saturday or Sunday morning unless I have more than 50 to enter) and I make sure I find the time to do the things I need to do around here with my family. It took a lot of balancing though. I had to stop spending so much time on other people's websites too. I still help out here and there when someone needs me but by this point everyone knows (or should more or less know) what they are doing so they don't need me as much. The fact that I was off for two months helped too. I was able to get back on track again. Using my own records that I extracted for Ardore I was able to locate several of my own ancestors and that made it worth it.

Now stay tuned because there is something else coming..... Wink

You are giving me WAY too much credit. LOL. An Italian originally from Celenza made the two videos and gave me permission to use them on my site. I search youtube every now and then for that sort of thing. There is a really nice one on youtube of Paduli by the way. I think the creator's last name is Minicozzi.

Geeze, i wonder what he used. I liked the 3d transitions..ya know, the thing you see getting from one pix to the next. They are called transitions. Lori, these video making programs are so easy to use, that a child could do it. You would have no problem..lol
