I've been using Picasa 3 for many years. I have nearly 7000 photos saved over the years. Picasa allows me to find a photo in seconds (providing some sort of file naming convention is adhered to). I don't use separate folders for events, it's just one big bushel of pics. In that way I can zero in on a photo(s) without worrying about which folder it might be in. There are a few exceptions but not many. Like Carole, I love Picasa. Sounds like an advertisement doesn't it.

Am I off topic here BTW? I think this thread started with a question about Windows 7 vs Vista. Oh well, Happy Holidays and I haven't been into the eggnog yet, Joe B.

Hey Joe, I envy you all those photos.

I am somewhat organized. I have mine set up with family folders plus non-family, aunts, uncles, cousins, children, census, manifests, military, and love this, miscellaneous documents.

For me, this works well. For others, it may not. At least like you I can find what I need in a second or so.

For the families, I have them broken down into birth/death/marriage and other.

Now its time for the eggnog! Wink

Well I just started using Picasa but I don't have enough photo's to organize on there yet. It does free up space on my websites which is a good thing sometimes. I am trying to reorganize some of websites - the first one I used I never organized it correctly and now it looks like one great big salad! Everything is mixed up everywhere and I can never find anything. The others are much more streamlined.

Eggnog huh? Can I have that for breakfast too?
Happy holidays!
