I have a copy of the death certificate that shows his parents as being Leonardo Galernoni and Caterine Gili. I have no birth or death dates. I believe they lived in Cento, Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy because my great grandfather was born in that area.
The civil registry in Italy began in 1871. First you have to search the archives of the church or in the state archive of cultural heritage. At the time this last line store is out of the earthquake.
