Ok, first, party

My newly found Italian cousin made a little family tree of our relatives in Italy for me. Can you believe it!?

Ok, back to earth...She said that my ggf's registration in his town of birth was cancelled in 1909. What does that mean? Can someone please explain this idea of registering in one's place of birth/residence? Does this have to do with taxes?

Ok, back to the party party

I don't think it is his birth registration . . .but I don't know what kind of a registration it is. She said it was cancelled in 1909. I have confirmed that he was in NY until Dec. 1911. After that, poof, gone in thin air. I thought perhaps he went back to his home town in Italy.

Aw, thanks, guys! Ugh! It is so hard to work when I am sooo happy.

Here is exactly what she said about the registration: Il tuo bisnonno è stato cancellato dal registro di Feroleto il 26/01/ del 1909 (credo, non si legge molto bene)perché si è trasferito a New York.

My ggf was cancelled from the register because he moved to NY?

Thanks, Nuccia! She sent me a copy of it today via e-mail. Later, when I get a chance, I will send it to you from work. BTW, Cathy, I won $10 yesterday on an instant lottery ticket! I took your advice and played the lottery!

Lori,

I received your email and am posting the schedules on the Southern Italy Board. Very Happy

Congrats on the $10. Hubby won too last night at the casino... Wink Tomorrow is his birthday so he got the day off today. I had to work overnight so I told him to go out and enjoy himself a bit.
