I know this is not in the correct order but I’m hoping someone will be able to help get across what I’m asking for.
(I’ll enclose an international reply coupon and a self addressed envelope)

Parrochio di Santa Maria Nuova
03049 Sant’Elia Fiumerapido
Prov. Frosinone
Italy

Reverendo Padre

Sono (my name), residente in Scozia, Regno Unito.
Con la presente le chiedo di poter ottenere la sola copia integrale dell'atto di (what I want to ask for is the record of their Church marriage in 1879) matrimonio dei miei nonni (I’ve copied the above from a previous letter I sent but it may not be appropriate for this request)

Giovan Battista Defilippis, figlio di Domenico e Maria Giuseppa Fionda fu battezzato nella Parrochio San Biagio al 1853 Giugno 10th a Sant'Elia Fiumerapido

Francesca Bastianello, figlia di Pasqua Bastianello nata il 17 Febbraio 1861 fu battezzato nella Parrochio San Biagio il 18 Febbraio 1861 a Sant'Elia Fiumerapido,

What I also need to say is :-

I believe that San Biagio was integrated with Santa Maria Nova in the late 1800’s and that the San Biagio records of marriages etc. may have been transferred to your church at that time.

Giovanni/Francesca’s Church ceremony of marriage was circa 1879 in Parrochio San Biagio.
Their civil marriage, which is recorded on their birth acts, was 5th May 1883

Se la ricerca dovesse dare esito negativo, le chiedo cortesemente di ricevere una risposta certificata.
Si rimane in attesa di cordiale riscontro e si porgono distinti saluti
La salute cordialmente

Grateful for any help
Emmy

Reverendo Padre

Sono (my name), residente in Scozia, Regno Unito.

Just thought I'd tell you something that did give me goosebumps!
It seems My fathers parents were married on 31st December 1876 in Italy

(the next 3 marriages were in Scotland)

My mother's parents were married on 31 December 1890
and my parents were married on 31 December 1915
and my brother was married on 31 December 1940
I knew about the last three marriages because if my mother's father had been alive when my brother was married it would have been a very special celebration - A golden wedding, a Silver Wedding and a Wedding!!
but to find out my DAD'ds parents were married on that date too Wow!

Emmy, WOW! That is so fascinating!

Did your parents both realize that both their parents got married on New Year's Eve and that's why they did it? And did your brother realize and follow suit? Or is it one big huge coincidence? I'd be curious to know.

Either way, it's unblievable the way it all fell into place with the 50, 25 and your brother.

Josepha is Latin and Giuseppa is the Italian translation.
Church registers usually had the names in Latin.

I know for definate my dad didnt know his parents were married on the 31st December because the only information I ever had was on a birth certificate for one of my father's brothers and on it said my grandparents were married in Sant'Elia July 1978 which was wrong.
I do know that when my mum and dad got married it was a double celebration because I have a copy of what was written about it for the newspaper and a description of the clothes they were wearing I've also got one of the invitation cards. Whether it was planned I dont know but if my mum and dad were planning to marry about that time then I think if I had been them I would have chosen that date too.
Why my brother chose that date I dont know because that was during World War2
But to discover that my Italian grandparents were married on the 31st December too just left me speechless!
