#8: Re: Liz Author: chanchisfea, Posted: Wed Dec 26, 2007 8:57 pm ---- Aww!!! You all are such great friends! After so many days away from the forum I'm feeling lost....*tries to find way around*... HUGS, HUGS and more HUGS!
Well, I've yet to check and upload most of the pictures I took, but they will be up and available to be viewed soon (I hope!)...I'm trying to figure out what and how to show them, so I don't bore anyone with them
I did not go to Egypt after all. Wish I had, but since it was something my sisters didn't actually have in the agenda of things for me to do while in Israel, it just didn't work out. The shortest amount of time I would have been able to travel and enjoy Egypt would have been at least 3-4 days...being that I was in Israel visiting family the idea of not spending those 3-4 days with them seemed a bit much, more so since I had not seen them for so many years.
But, I have to say that I loooooooved Israel!!! For me, it was like I had been there before (perhaps in my previous life ) and overall, I felt like I belonged. People, though rude when it came to simple interaction such as giving you change (actually throwing stuff at you like they were pissed or something, lol), shoving you without saying "sorry" or "excuse me"... were very nice when I actually got to have a conversation with them. I might have not known Hebrew, but they sure knew English well enough for us to carry a decent conversation
I danced to my hearts' content and until my feet hurt. I visited places I never dreamed of visiting: Jerusalem, Haifa, Bethlehem, Dead Sea, Masada and Edin Gedi... walked along the shore of the Mediterranean Sea along the coast of Tel-Aviv, saw many things, smelled and tasted so many more that I know right now, I'll be going back. I'm already dreaming of going back sometime next year! Whether or not it will happen, I don't know...but I want to see more!! Egypt included!
Well, I better get back to reading and see what everyone has been up to and what finds have occurred in the genealogy searches everyone is conducting...I missed you all!
*smooches*

Best wishes on your safe return, look forward to seeing the photo's. When doing my Nurse training in Wakefield I worked with quite a few Jewish nurses and found them to be geat fun, their humour was way out even in those days. Great people I made many friends.
#10: Re: Liz Author: Carole, Location: Valtellina - Near Lake ComoPosted: Fri Dec 28, 2007 7:25 pm ---- It's nice to have you back with us Liz. As you can see everyone has missed you.
Your holiday sounds as if it was really memorable and I can't wait to see your photographs. The Holy Land at this time of year must be something else - the atmosphere, the places, the people and not least of all the sheer history.
But now it's back to your everyday life that is, I'm sure, no less exciting but in a different way.
Hope you have a very Happy New Year and a prosperous 2008!

#12: Re: Liz Author: chanchisfea, Posted: Tue Jan 01, 2008 3:30 pm ---- Hello my friends!
I finally got around to uploading the pictures from my trip... I hope photobucket doesn't make a mess of them by compressing them too much. By clicking any of the pictures, individually, you can see the actual size. Being that there are so many pictures, the slideshow option is the best
On the left side of the page, there are 6 sub albums to choose from :
Bethlehem, Dead Sea, Haifa, Jerusalem, Masada and Tel Aviv.
"Slideshow" option can be found near the top-right corner in each sub album...
Enjoy!
Liz

#14: Re: Liz Author: Cathy, Posted: Tue Jan 01, 2008 6:44 pm ---- I love them Liz! That is a great way of sharing them too. I never knew you could do slide shows and have different files in Photobucket! Great photos!
#15: Re: Liz Author: ricbru, Location: TRENTO - ITALIAPosted: Tue Jan 01, 2008 6:46 pm ---- My favourite picture is that one with the star on the ground, where Jesus was born.
I hope I will go there one day before I die.
Is it dangerous over there?
kisses and hugs
