Morning all. I have had an interesting weekend researching some of the family through the Yahoo and Google Italy search engines. What was interesting in the searches is that when a listing would come up Gente di Mare only showed up with reference to a surname list and not for forum discussions as ItalianGenealogyForum. Just curious! I would think as our discussions increase we should at least have our forum in the search engines as well, not just for a surname list.

But for a general search on Yahoo or Google for a name or genealogy or forums Gente di Mare does not come up with the forum. Only IntalianGenealogyForum.

I can always pick up Gente if that is what I am searching for but not for any further information or discussion groups in the general search.

This is what I found doing a search on Gente di Mare Italian Genealogy..

On google..Page 1

on yahoo..Page 1

using just gente di mare..

on google..Page 1

www.google.com/search?...=firefox-a

using search..Italian genealogy forums..page 2

Using Giovanni Polito (my great grandfather) Page 2

www.google.com/search?...rt=10&sa=N

Keep in mind that Italian Genealogy posts have been around longer (at least in my case) and so would be linked higher up..

Is this what you mean?
