My Gram passed away on Saturday, and I wanted to share a video clip from her 83rd birthday (the last party she had).

She loved chocolate (often she would eat an entire can of frosting with just a spoon) , and so I went and bought this Chocolate Fudge cake from a local Italian Bakery. It is funny to see her reaction after taking a couple bites, a priceless memory. You will also see my older son Steven humming to one of his favorite 1950's songs "Blue Moon".

Hi Jim,

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your grandmother. I'm glad you were able to capture her and her voice on video, something you'll be able to watch and listen to over and over again. We may lose people in our lives but they're never really that far away. Cherish your memories.

You and your family are in my prayers.

Jim, I am so sorry for your loss. It is so nice to have a video like this, I asked for a video camera for Christmas so I could film my grandmas. I have a few videos of my grandfathers, and I really really love them. To hear their voices is a speical thing. Thanks for posting the video, I could go for cake now. kiss

Thank you Mike

It's funny my parents bought a Video Camera when I was about 13 (They had just come out) and I haven't stopped filming since. They were always irritated with me because it was pretty much always rolling on family get-togethers, now they thank me. Somehow I knew back then that they were precious memories.

So many family members gone now, and yet I have them on film. Mike, you should take as many videos as you can when you get your camera. Believe me when I tell you how glad you will be someday.

James, that was so nice! I have a few of my grandmother too before she passed away but unfortunately, they are on 8 mm (shh...it was a while ago!).

My condolences as well on her passing, but I'm so glad she didn't suffer. You know where we are if you need anything. kiss

James, I laughed so hard when I saw the video. Your Gram was the epitome of the typical East Coast Italian grandma! Mine looked and sounded exactly the same. So close in fact that it brought back wonderful treasured memories. I loved watching it. Thanks for sharing.

James It is always sad when we lose someone we love but just as you said she will be forever in your memories and close to your heart and that cant ever be taken away from you. Your Gram looked so happy on that video and I'd like to bet she really did appreciate having such a wonderful loving family who cared about her.
You are all in my prayers
God Bless
