Hello,
I am trying to locate the address of where I can ask for vital stats: birth/death cerficates/information from the Campbasso area. I have a cover letter ready to go. My grandfather, Frederico D'Elisiis immigrated to the US sometime around 1920. My grandmother, Filamena Lozzi D'Elisiis came to the US (Ellis Island) shortly after in May, 1921 with my father, Ernest and my aunt, Elena. I'd like information on my grandparents, such as birth dates and on my great grandparents: Archillo and Williamano D'Elisiis who remained in Italy. My cousins and I are trying to put as much of our family history together not only for ourselves but as a legacy to leave for our children.
Any help in obtaining this address would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!
From the Ellis Island manifest, Filomena's birthplace was Guardialfiera in the Campobasso province. You may write to the following address:

Comune di Guardialfiera
Ufficio di Stato Civile
Corso Umberto 26
86030 Guardialfiera CB
Italy

In the site below you may find sample letters in Italian to ask for vital record:

Thank you so very much! I have a friend, a possible relative, that I email. She lives in northern Italy and has helped me translate a cover letter. She wasn't sure who to send it to. SO, last night, after DAYS of searching and trying to find information I stumbled across this site. I have a copy of the manifest, just wasn't sure how to get information that I needed for an address. I'm sure I'll be visiting here often as I've already gotten vital information that I can use in my search.
Thank you again so very, very much!!

Thank you again. My sister and I have been trying to piece our family together for years now. It was easier, back then, to find people. It was through a search that we found 23 families, with our last name, in southern Italy. We wrote to them all and received feedback from 2. Both those letters had valuable information but not enough to totally tie our families together. So, our hunt went on a backburner until recently when I found my cousins on the web. We hadn't spoken, due to moving, in 30 years. So, now we are all fired up again and between us all have got some good information and even some gravestone pictures with dates on them from the US. Then, a few nights ago, I was contemplating signing up as a paying member of ancestory.com and thought I'd try a few other search ideas. It was then I came up with this addy. I read the entries in the forum and was really impressed. I even sent the addy on to my relatives.
You are right. People here are very helpful and friendly. The information I've received is priceless and hopefully I'll find some things to pass on to others myself. Thanks again!
