I have not had the time to write for the draft card. I have had an extremely busy winter and spring. I am just now beginning to think about this again and I will try to get a letter out this week. I have not had a chance to get the microfilms yet either (my kids both have sports on Saturdays and that is the only time I can go).

I will keep you guys updated as soon as I get things going again, this birth record is the last document I need for my citizenship application.

I finally was able to view the family history centers microfilm today!! I was so excited when they called and said they had arrived and then I was miserable when I had spent two hours squinting at the microfilm machine trying to decipher enough of the teenie tiny handwriting to find what I was looking for.

However, I think I may have found something promising. Can someone tell me how to attach it to a post so you guys can help me translate it?

There are a few different ways to upload an image to the site. One way is to attach a file using the ADD AN ATTACHMENT link located below. (You will see it once you hit reply). It will give you the option to browse your files and you would attach the record as you would to an email.

Another way is to use an image uploading service such as imageshack.us or photobucket.

You would do the same thing..browse your files, attach the one you want and then for imageshack, choose the last option to create a link to your file.

Hope this helps..if not, let us know and we will see what else we can do.

OK, I have been unable to get the add attachment thing to work on the reply screen so let's try this. It is really hard to read so I hope someone can help me out with it.

There are 2 lens sizes on the microfilm viewers. Many of the Italian films cannot be viewed on the regular viewers - a stronger magnification lens is needed. Ask at your center - they should be able to help you.

I have not been able to get back on this site since I last posted. I will try to email this document to Cathy to see if she can get it attached in a better format for me.

I am trying to find out if this document is for my GGF. His name was Calogero Conti, born in Valledolmo on February 18, 1884 to Salvatore Conti and Maria Orazia Infantino.

Also, if we cannot get this posted in a legible format; can someone help me compose a letter to the Commune of Valledolmo requesting they look at the document and send me the birth record/certificate for this person.
