Cousin Barbara and I met at the NJ State Archives in June and had a wonderful day! located many documents and just enjoyed sharing info. Planning a trip to Jersey City shortly to meet another counsin found on line from my Paternal GM's family Cuiccio. I obtained the DC for my MGGM Angelina Pica. Her mother's maiden name is listed but I cannot decifer it. Haven't mastered imageshack as yet! LOL anyway,

Have corresponded with a gentleman on Rootsweb who's PGGM's (Vernaglia/Avigliano) seem to be related to my PGM (yes I am older) and were living at the same street address with my PGM. I noted on the 1890 manifest for the ship Sempione that my PGF and Uncle along with two individuals name Renna were comming to see Anthony Vernaglia and Biagio Accarino. Would someone please be so kind as to look up the 1890 - 1910 census for NYC for me? Looking for Cuiccio, Accarino and Aviglianos living at 185 Baxter Street and the Vernaglia's at 148 Columbus. My maternal grandmother was Stephanina Cuiccio, child of Pietro Cuiccio and Maria Teresa Quaglia. Known siblings were Angiolina, Stefano, Generoso, Elvira Cuiccio. Stephanie married in 1903, born 1877.
Maria Avigliano was born 1878,her parents are Antonio Avigliano and Irene Vernaglia and her known siblings are Felice,Luigi, Rafaelo, James and Clara. She married Antonio Paulo Vernaglia (a cousin) in 1901.
Antonio Paulo Vernaglia was born 1871, his parents are Luigi Paolo Vernaglia and Madelina Cuiccio, his known siblings are Carolina, Rachela, Lavinia, Paolo, Domenico and Emilia.
Elivra Cuiccio, my Great Great Aunt, sister to Pietro Cuiccio, married Biagio Accarino in 1896.
It appears that Maria Avigliano and Stephanina Cuccio were living at the same address, 185 Baxter, when they married in 1901 and 1903, and Biagio Accarino was the witness on both their marriage certificates. Looking to see who else may have been living at this address or in close proximity. Anythng you find on these surnames would be of assistance, thank you.

I already posted the 1900 and 1910 census info for Antonio Vernaglia. 1900 his brother Paolo and sister Lavinia were living with him on Baxter by 1910 he had moved and his sister Lavinia was still living with him as well has his wife, sons, a servant and a niece. I'm having a difficult time finding the other surnames on Baxter - I'm still looking.

The census page prior to the one you posted lists Ralph (Raffaele or Raffaelo) Avigliano and his family.

So they're living right next to each other. The street is not Baxter though, looks like Brote??? not sure. Maybe you can take another look and see what you think it might be.

Thanks Elizabeth and Steve; Interesting that Antonio Vernaglia changed addresses every 10 yrs, he was a doctor, that explains the servants. Supprized that the Cuiccio's and Avigliano's are not on the same street or builing in the 1900 census. I know that the Bernarducci's were on Mott Street and Stephanina Cuiccio married Matteo Bernarducci in 1903 in the Most Precious Blood Church, which I do believe is also on Baxter Street.

I looked through all the images for the 6th ward this morning (188 images L and R page for each) and nothing (but what we already found).

i believe what the census shows that Billie posted says Crotona Ave in the bronx

if im not mistaken Lotus, MPB is on Mulberry Street, (atleast thats the one i attend when i go to the feast of san gennaro, I believe the one on Baxter st. is a new MPB

Thanks for looking at the street name steve. I still haven't been able to find Cuiccio, Accarino etc. Maybe you or another forum member will have better luck than I've had. I've looked and looked and just can't come up with anything.

Thanks Steve: See Biagio and Elivra are living on Columbus Ave with children. And you are right about MPB, it's mailing address is 109 Mulberry, next street over from Baxter. Is it possible that the Cuiccio's are not on any NYC census? They arrived on 10/15/1888 and had two children born in NYC in 1891 and 1896. Assuming that Stephanina Cuiccio with her mother,father and siblings must have moved to Jersey City some time after her wedding in 1903. Will keep on digging for more info to go on. Thanks for your assistance.
