I am new to the forum...looking for info on my grandfather who immigrated to Rhode Island from Pico Italy. Is Pico in Southern Italy?
So far, the name DiManna seems to be a dead end. Has anyone ever heard of the name? Thanks.

Hi dew397 and welcome to "Gente di Mare".
Pico is in the province of Frosinone which is in Lazio - about half way between Rome and Naples.
Here is the link for Pico town - it is small with only about 1200 people there:
>PICO<
The Italian White Pages only show 17 people in Italy with the name Di Manna . All are in Frosinone and many in the town of Pico.
See this link:

Thanks for the info. My grandfather probably came to RI in the early 1900's. His name was Luigi. I think he had a brother named Tomasso and a sister Marie or it's Italian equal. That is all I know. He married my grandmother (Maria Colizza) who immigrated from Galluccio at the age 19. I don't think either came through Ellis Island. Do you have any information about he name Colizza from Galuccio? Her father was Francesco and her mother was Innocensa. Thanks

The Luigi from the ships manifest cannot be my grandfather. My mom was born in 1915. The marriage listing from 1911 is their marriage.
