Charles Vincent Tortorice born 1893 in Sicily, died in Beaumont Texas in 1977. Married to Frances (Last name unknown) and had John Vincent and Victor as sons.

Trying to find his immigration and birth town info. I believe he arrived in New Orleans and lived in Plaquemines Parish at some time. His 1930 census shows he was in Beaumont Texas at that time.

Thanks! Very Happy

We think Charles V spouse Frances may have been a Verde. also, some family members think Gibellina may be the birth place but not sure. Also the grandma use to say Carlos so i wonder of he came over as Carlos instead of Calogera, are they the same given name?

Carlo and Calogero are two different given names.

No hits on PagineBianche for Tortorice; plenty for Tortorici.

No, I do not believe this to be my grandfather as the info in the first email you sent today is the correct text.....Charles Vincent was his name...married Frances.(Verde)...born in Gibellina...had sons John and Victor...also had daughter Mary Magdelene (not mentioned). I know of a brother named Tony Tortorice, who would be grandfather to Joey Tortorice....believe there were other brothers.....that part of the family lives in Kansas City.

Frances Verde Tortorice, my grandmother, her father was Vic Verde and her mother was Rosa, I believe.
