Trying to post a local GIF file in the body of my text?

I see this done by everyone else. I notice all sorts of GIF files turning up within the text portion of a message. Would someone help me out? Thanks, Joe B.

Joe,

If I am understanding correctly, you want to add a gif attachment? You would attach like you would a jpeg file. First hit reply, then scroll down to Filename and browse..attach the file from your PC. Wait a few minutes and then hit submit.

It SHOULD work. Trying one now..

Actually I'm trying to place a small animated GIF within the text portion of my message. Sort of like we do with the smileys. The attachment I think I understand.

If you're talking about loading a gif with the box around it showing the size of file, file name etc. then you would have your input look like this

Hi Joe,

Editing to give simpler explanation

This is the address of a little guy I like to use

content.sweetim.com/si...020148.gif

immediately before the gif address put [img]

immediately after the .gif close it by putting [/img]

So try copying the http I gave you, paste it in your response and then type the [img] at the very beginning and the [/img] at the very end and see if it works

OR..you could use the icon above the post box (first one on the bottom)..

Click on that, and a pop up appears starting with http:// -put the url and click ok and it will attach the image:

Same concept, different method.

After you save your file, look at the file name and extension using windows explorer, right click on the file name with the png extension and say rename. When it highlights just change the extension to gif and hit return.

Should solve your problem.
