Grandmother birth certificate

I am trying to find out where I need to write to obtain a copy of my grandmother's birth certificate. Below is relevant information.

Theresa Galarsa
Birth date: March 15, 1878
Birth Place: Cosenza, Italy

Was she born in the Citta di Cosenza or the Provincia di Cosenza?

If the city, you can write to the Comune:

Il Municipio
L'Ufficio di Stato Civile
Piazza dei Bruzi -
87100 Cosenza (CS), ITALY

If it is the province, you will need the name of the specific Town (Comune). Someone on the list could translate your request.

The province of Cosenza also has a Portal which has Vital Records; not sure if it now is completed as it didn't have all the years the last time I logged on to the site:

NOTE -- You need to create an account before the search tool will work.

An alternative is to use the Microfilmed records available at your local FHC - Family History Center:

You would need to find the local library near your home and then order the correct microfilm for Births (Nascita) that covers the year of birth for the locale.
